Know you’re in tune at a glance
Real-time pitch detection with the full note name and octave, and four tunings one tap apart.
Ukulele Tuner & Practice
Uku is a free ukulele tuner and a practice companion: ten minutes a day, songs that scroll by themselves and your own songs, as if a teacher were beside you.
Tune for free first, then practise your way up, one step at a time.
Real-time pitch detection with the full note name and octave, and four tunings one tap apart.
Five minutes a day, from meeting C and Am to all of “Twinkle, Twinkle” on day five. Day 1 is always free.
Eight songs scroll at your tempo: a line tells the left hand when to change chord, arrows show the right hand how to strum. “Twinkle, Twinkle” is free.
Paste a chord chart from the web and Uku splits it into bars, or type it in. Share a song with a friend as a link, and keep your songs in step with iCloud.

Tap Record and play. It stops by itself and keeps only what you played. Listen back, drag either end to adjust, then keep it.
“Today’s practice” lines up tuning, chord changes, strumming, a song and ear training for you, and the practice log counts the days you have played in a row.

Switch between two chords and see changes per minute, your best and the trend at a glance.
A fingering tip for every chord
It marks which chords are beginner ones, where a barre is needed and which finger to watch.
A metronome that speeds up
Every few bars it gets a little faster, and it can drop out bars to build a steady beat.
Strumming, one step at a time
From all downstrokes to the common rhythms; each one steady before the next.
Chord practice that listens
Play for Uku and move on when it is right; skip the unsure ones and come back to them.

Every shape shows its finger numbers — or tap a shape on the fretboard to find the chord’s name.
Not a stretched phone screen — a layout built for the larger display.
The sidebar stays put in landscape

Yes. “Five Days, Your First Song” starts with tuning and meeting C and Am, five minutes a day, and by day five you play a whole song.
No. There is no account or login — download it and start tuning.
Yes. Standard (High G), Low G, Baritone and D Tuning (Canadian) are built in, one tap apart.
Tuning and practice run on your device, so no internet is needed. The sound is analysed live for pitch only. Audio is recorded only when you tap Record yourself, and it stays on your phone — it is never uploaded. When you import a chord chart from a picture or PDF, the picture is also read on your phone only.
Copy the chord chart, open My Songs and tap “Paste”, and Uku splits it into bars. The guide covers three ways to write it, how to write chords and how to fine-tune after pasting, with a video. See how →
iCloud sync is on by default, so your own songs, your ukuleles with their photos and your practice stay the same on your iPhone and iPad; you can turn it off any time under Backup and import. A song shared with a friend goes by link: it is encrypted on your phone before upload, the link works for 90 days and you can take it back at any time.
iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later; on iPad it works in portrait and landscape.
After the 5-day trial the tuner (Standard and Low G) stays free and the app is never locked. Chord practice, songs, strumming practice, the metronome and the other tools unlock with a single purchase. The chord lookup keeps 12 common chords and chord practice gives one free try a day. Nothing is charged automatically, and there is no subscription.

They stay out of the way, but you’ll use them every day.
The moment a string is in tune, the screen quietly lights up and holds — no need to keep staring at it to be sure.
30 to 250 BPM, with customizable beats and subdivisions — and guided practice.
Once all four strings are in tune, turn today's musical moment into a card to share. 30 quotes are built in and picked at random, and the card is created on your device.
